It’s been two years now since we (my family) been ravaged by typhoon Ondoy. We have experienced how hard it is to stand up when natural calamity stikes. That was one of the hard earned lesson I have encountered in my entire life, and gave me realizations which I’ve blogged in Filipino. It was not easy, and that was one of the few events in your life that you will know who got your back.

This time, municipalities from the South of the Philippines were ravaged by typhoon Sendong just few days before Christmas. I would like to knock at your hearts to donate (in money or in kind) for those who were affected by flood. You may send it to the following NGOs and commercial establishments listed below (subject to change).

Project Nada, a pro bono project

In line with Cai’s intention (I also blogged about it) of putting up an out reach birthday party, I’ll be launching a project for charitable institutions, NGOs and a like calling it Project Nada which I prepared a document for everyone to read from that.

Project Nada is a pro bono project for non-profit organizations, charitable institutions in the Philippines. It will help them [institutions] build social media and web presence in the Philippines.

Project History

The project was conceptualized after a friend announced her intention of reaching out to CRIBS foundation that will serve as her birthday party for year 2011. I was reminded by my conscience that there are several institutions that I volunteered to lend a hand for that are financially challenged. Considering the idea made up a decision to put up a community (team I might say) that will carve their presence in the World Wide Web.

How will I join?

I created a form which we can utilize to answer project’s call for volunteers.

You can also be part of the page. Got things done on Facebook Fan page for Project Nada portal.

Call for help

From here I would to invite [again] every aspiring, talented Filipino [even foreign blood are welcome] individuals that are interested in joining the team. The project needs you. The project is open for volunteers in: web design and development, core and planning, and benefactors.  Let’s make the project possible and start to make a change, lend our hand to them. Join Project Nada. Thank you very much! :)

Before I end, allow me to share an excerpt of La Sallian imperative:

Let me be the change I want to see
to do with strength and wisdom all that needs to be done
and become the hope I can be

Cai Abbass, an office mate of mine is celebrating her birthday this August, she thought beautifully as she will reach out to the kids of CRIBS foundation. It will be pushed through on the 27th of August 2011.

CRIBS is a licensed foundation/home care for neglected and abandoned children. They provide foster care to these children, and put them into caring foster/adoptive families. Also, they have a program for abused girls, and call it New Beginning Program. They provide therapy and assistance for the education needs of the girls.

CRIBS is in need of the following supplies:

  • Rice for New Beginnings and Receiving Program
  • Outdoor Garden Set
  • 2 Units of Wall fan
  • Washing Machine (Heavy Duty) and Refrigerator (Heavy Duty)  for 26 abused girls of New Beginnings Program
  • Bed Sheets: 30 pcs (200 meter length / 2 meter width) 10pcs pink, 10 pcs yellow and 10 pcs. blue.
  • Curtains: 25 pcs. ( 150 meter width / 170 meter length) 10 pcs. pink, 10 pcs. blue and 5 pcs yellow.
