A blog post from an Alfresco System
0Holla!
I am sitting right next to my mentor while doing this. She is actually taking a deep view on Alfresco. For those who doesn’t have any idea about Alfresco, it is an Open Source Enterprise Content Management System including document management, web content management, SharePoint alternative and content repository. In laymans term, it is like WordPress but then, most of their adherent are on the Enterprise side.
I’m running on localhost. Actually, I tried it both on WordPress.com system and those on WordPress.org, however it doesn’t work on WordPress.com. I’ll be giving you updates on this technology soon. Thanks!
BTW, you can comment on this blog post. Thank you!
Google Image
0Have you ever tried searching for something and google cannot return a result? (I know, its insane) But this time, thought of at least once that we are able to search using images? Oh well, not an insanity now.
Now, google have launch a new search technology using images called, google images.
Have a glimpse of their launch video:
I became one of their first QA on this, and here’s what I’ve got:
- Not all images contains results, unless the photo you uploaded is public. Look, if you give google a black and white photo of your grandmother’s grandmother, google doesn’t have AI to track who was one the picture, where its taken, and those meta tags found on digital imprint.
I guess that’s one of an obvious issue in this kind of technology.
I do have a question running on my mind now, after this google image thing they did. What google can’t do? I guess one of that was not all can be search by google, for a fact is only 3% of web content google publishes on their search results.
An Eye writer
0I first saw this on TED. I am too early for my shift that I stumbled upon TED.com, which I love doing for the past 2-3 years already. ’cause it was a pleasure watching them, and listening to them how they spread ideas which moves me. Got to this video of Mick Ebeling managed to help TEMPT and changed the world with his team’s invention Eye Writer.
What About an Eye Writer?
The EyeWriter project is an ongoing collaborative research effort to empower people who are suffering from ALS with creative technologies.
It is a low-cost eye-tracking apparatus & custom software that allows graffiti writers and artists with paralysis resulting from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis to draw using only their eyes.
For those who’ve been moved by this endeavor, and feels like hacking the codes of. Join and collaborate with them. Also, source codes are available on their site and look it’s OPEN SOURCE!
